In early 2003, New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson announced his re-entry into the local banking industry with the purchase of two San Antonio bank charters and their merger, to create a new charter, Lone Star Capital Bank, N.A.

The bank's management team includes: Chairman R. Tom Roddy, formerly president of NASDAQ-traded Benson Financial Corp; Vice Chairman Bill McCandless, formerly president and CEO of Lone Star Capital Bank; and Danny Buck, President and CEO Lone Star Capital Bank.

Lone Star's board of directors include: Tom Benson, Tom Roddy, Bill McCandless, Renee Benson, Larry Benson, Stanley Rosenberg, Rita LeBlanc, Ryan LeBlanc, Danny Buck, Charles Amato and Harold Berg.  Lone Star Capital Bank has four locations in San Antonio, Texas, 40 employees, and total assets of about $132 million as of 12-31-10.
